In English & supported throughout all subjects, we aim to empower & enrich our children’s vocabulary & so prepare them for the next stage in their educational journey (& beyond) so that no child is hindered or held back by a deficit of language as a result of deprivation. We want them to be able to articulate themselves & their learning through a wide bank of subject specific terminology as well as being creative & innovative in their speech & writing. We aim to inspire our children to become fluent, confident life-long readers who can discuss the joy of literature as well as develop their own style & expression through wide opportunities for writing.

Play Leaders
Our Play Leaders are an amazing group of Year 6 children who ensure
that everyone is happy, safe & makes the most of this valuable time
together during breaktime and lunchtime.
The Y6 Play Leaders have taken part in training with Arches on how
to facilitate other children in play. The Play Leaders do a great job as
they keep the shed & playtime equipment ordered & tidy, make sure
that everyone has something or someone to play with & encourage
other children to take part in organised games.
Our Play Leaders are easily identifiable as they wear 'Play Leader' hoodies or vests and are always warmly smiling. Their role is extremely valuable & we find that they develop wonderful skills of leadership, organisation, communication & an ability to promote confidence & self esteem in others. The children meet every half term with Miss Miller & get to discuss the positives & negatives of things that have happened during the week.
